About Masjid Suffah

Educate. Cultivate. Serve.

Masjid Suffah is a non-profit religious organization established in 2015 to provide a place of worship for Muslims residing in and around Kennesaw.

Masjid Suffah is named after the Ashab al-Suffah, the People of the Porch. The Ashab al-Suffah were a group of companions of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) who sat on the “porch” of the masjid (mosque). They devoted their lives to studying Islam. Learning at the feet of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) allowed the People of the Porch to cultivate a deep understanding of Islam within themselves, which allowed them to serve Allah and serve the community at large. At Masjid Suffah, we hope to revive the spirit of the Ashab al-Suffah through education, cultivation, and service.

Educate.
The Islamic tradition teaches that Islam is not only a religion but a way of life. To that end, Masjid Suffah is committed to serving as a center for religious education for all people. At Masjid Suffah, we believe education is the means through which one can gain knowledge and understanding of how to live his or her life. We also hope to educate the greater Kennesaw community about the true teachings of Islam.

Cultivate.
At Masjid Suffah, we strive to cultivate a God-conscious community, guided by the principles of peace, unity, and compassion for all.

Serve. First and foremost, we, at Masjid Suffah, strive to serve our Lord. We are also devoted to serving the needs of the Muslim community, as well as our friends and neighbors in the local Kennesaw community.
